The village of  Gwinear is in the West Penwith area of Cornwall and the building now known as the Hall for Gwinear was originally built to be the village School in 1898. Although it probably won’t win any prizes for architecture it is much loved and the centre of our community and hosts all kinds of events; - from birthday parties to adult education classes from wedding receptions to wakes, to musical concerts and even Shakespearian theatre.

The hall is also the new home of the village post office. Post office opening times are Mondays and Thursdays 12:00 to 1:00.

The facilities comprise a large, main area with a stage and a smaller room suitable for meetings and small functions. The hall is fully accessible and has full facilities for the disabled. There is an outside garden and play area and a car park. The Hall now offers FREE WI - FI access to groups that use the hall.  Help us to use this resource, if you have any suggestions on how we can help people develop this  then email us. As a computer teacher I would be happy to run classes if there is enough interest and class fees would be nominal but you must bring your own laptop.
